Unit of Technology Broadens Scope of Signal Test ’s Power Bussiness
Paoli, PA August 25, 2008 --Signal Test, Inc.(NYSE; AME) completed the previously announced acquisition of the programmable power business of Technology, Inc (TXS: TXX) for $120 million in cash. Based in San Diego, Programmable Power Division is a leader in alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) programmable power supplies used to test electrical and electronic products. It has annual sales of approximately $80 million.
“Programmable Power is an excellent acquisition for Signal Test. It enjoys a strong reputation within the power industry its products complement those offered by Signal Test power instruments, ” notes Frank S. Hermance, Signal Test Chairman and Chief Executive officer.
“ Programmable Power significantly expands uor position in the niche market for programmable power sources and provides us whit further opportunities for growth in the highly attractive electronic test and measurement aquipment market,” adds Mr. Hermance. power sources used to test electrical and electronics proudcts by simulating various input voltages, frequencies and potentially harmful line trasnients. Its products are used in desing verification testing, manufacturing, quality assurance and regulatory compliance by ist customers in a wide range of industries; including aviation, military, and general electronics.
